Santa Fe, North Houston, TX. – October 26, 2025 — This past weekend, the soccer fields in the Santa Fe community came alive with energy and excitement as the Disciples for Christ League hosted a youth soccer tournament. The league, founded by San Esteban Episcopal Church alongside dedicated community members, has grown into a thriving program with more than 100 children participating this season.
Despite the day beginning with less-than-perfect weather, the spirit of the community shone through. Young athletes played through the rain, families gathered on the sidelines to cheer, and local vendors provided food and drinks, creating a festive atmosphere that reflected the heart of Santa Fe.
Colony Ridge owner John Harris attended the event and expressed his appreciation for the community’s involvement, stating:
“I’m very happy to have everyone come out today and see all the faces that are ready to play some football. I’m very happy to be invited and to be a part of this. Thank you so much for letting me be part of this and getting to experience this with all of you.”
The event was a true celebration of unity, teamwork, and perseverance — values that define the Santa Fe community. The Disciples for Christ League continues to provide a safe and uplifting environment for local children to grow, learn, and build lifelong friendships through sports.
The soccer tournament exemplifies what community means: people working together to create opportunities for our children and build a brighter future for generations to come.
The growth and success of activities like this highlight Colony Ridge’s ongoing commitment to fostering connection, opportunity, and community pride throughout Santa Fe and surrounding areas.
