Three members of the Colony Ridge construction team made their way to the MSG Ramirez campus ready to give students a firsthand look at the world of construction — not through a textbook, but through the real machinery they operate every day on the job.
Students had the opportunity to get up close with heavy construction equipment, climb up into the cab, and see exactly what the view looks like from the operator's seat. For many of these elementary-aged students, it was their first time experiencing the scale and complexity of the machines that shape the ground beneath their community. And then there was the moment that may have stopped every student in their tracks: the HCA Houston Healthcare AirLife team arrived by helicopter, landing at the school and giving students an extraordinary look inside the aircraft — stretchers, medical equipment, and all. For a group of elementary schoolers, witnessing a medical helicopter touch down at their school is the kind of memory that doesn't fade.
